Want to unleash your child’s hidden artistic talents?
Bring them to me, I can help!
Drawing is one of the earliest forms of expression…even before words were born. It is the only universal language that does not need a translator.
Anyone can draw. Give your child a crayon and he’ll turn your front room wall into his canvass. Your first thought will be….’gosh how can I clean up that mess?’ But if you take a step back and observe, maybe you’ll see a pattern, a deliberate style, a work of art!
And that is what I do with your kids first – introduce them to the art of observation! Once that is accomplished, the next step is easy – I help them translate what they see onto a piece of paper.
Although it sounds easy, it is a very challenging process. Making young, easily distracted minds to focus and observe is easier said than done and I am sure as parents you’ll all agree with me.
I teach kids on a one-on-one basis because each child has his own unique talents and limitations. From simple linear drawing, I help them move to producing drawings with three dimensional effects.
I believe there are three stages to drawing – the basic stage is to observe and create their own work based on other drawings or photos. The next stage is to observe their surroundings (natural scenery, animals, birds and people) and translate those scenes into beautiful drawings and paintings. The ultimate stage is to draw from their imagination to create works of art which I call inspiration.
My goal is to help kids cross the first two stages and prepare them for that ultimate stage where they are on their own as they begin to see through their mind’s eye.
